Silicone Mold-Making
Using the same low cost, easy to find materials she uses for larger than life monumental molds, to jewelry sized molds,
Carole will guide you through completion of a silicone mold and mother mould of a sculpture you bring or one provided.
You will have personalized mold making for your project and at the same time you will learn from the problem solving and methodology used on other participants’ projects.
At the end, you will cast your sculpture in plaster and explore other options, including wax for bronze casting.
Bronze casting procedures will be demonstrated, including wax cleaning and preparation and spruing, and there will be a visit to a local bronze foundry.
Supplies are provided. And if you know the price of silicone molds,
you know that this class will literally pay for itself
after just your first finished mold.
There will be studio visits and art presentations and Wednesday night art walk to galleries
(including Carole’s gallery – Galeria Uno).
And we are always moments from the beach. You will return home thoroughly inspired!
